The cinematic pop sound that Milo Greene crafted in their debut album has a new successor coming with sophomore album “Control” coming in January. Until then, we have the first single of the album to give us a taste of what is to come. The band has taken a turn into dark pop with “White Lies.” The underlying guitar from their indie rock sound has a survived only to support the new influences of 80’s synth pop and 90’s R&B. Milo Greene has stepped out of their oceanic, natural vibe, to move to something more synthetic, yet the weight of their music is still effectively heavy. If the rest of the album sounds like “White Lies” there should be no worry of “Control” being a sophomore slump.
