October 12, 2015
At 4:02 PM, an officer responded to the Harre Union for a report of an attempted fraud. The subject had left the area prior to the officer’s arrival and a report was taken.
At 4:37 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to the Harre Union for a fire alarm. It was determined that a water leak caused a sensor to fail, activating the alarm.
October 15, 2015
At 11:27 AM, officers responded to the Christopher Center for a harassment report. Officers spoke with the subject and the situation has been resolved.
At 9:36 PM, an officer took a report of a missing student. VU Police Department located the student off campus within a few hours.
October 16, 2015
At 8:57 AM, an officer, directing traffic, was flagged down for a vehicle crash at LaPorte Avenue and Campus Drive North. There were no injuries and a crash report was taken.
At 3:35 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to the area of the VUCA for a report of a gas odor. Valpo Fire/Rescue could not locate the gas odor.
At 4:45 PM, an officer took a report of a juvenile who was battered by another juvenile on campus. The incident is under investigation.
At 5:36 PM, a student reported being the victim of a fraud. The incident is under investigation.
October 18, 2015
At 10:42 AM, officers took a report of the homeless Jesus statue being vandalized with green spray paint. Officers located green paint damage to a stop sign and a fraternity house. The fraternity also reported paint damage inside the house. The case is under investigations.
Use caution, scammers utilize emails, text, and phone calls to deceive people. Bank, IRS, Grants, and free items scams are commend. Remember, “if it sound too good to be true”, it’s probably a scam.
