November 02, 2015

Property Damage

At 1:46 PM, an officer responded to Schnabel Hall in reference to a broken window.  The window was broken by an employee using a weed trimmer.

Medical

At 9:30 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to the ARC for an employee with a traumatic foot injury.  Valpo Fire/Rescue transported the employee to Porter Regional Hospital.

November 03, 2015

Medical

At 2:55 PM, officers and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Wesemann Hall for a male stumbling in the grass area not wearing a shirt.  The elderly person refused additional medical treatment. An officer gave the non-campus person a ride home.

At 8:21 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to the ARC in reference to an employee who had fainted. The employee regained consciousness.  Valpo Fire/Rescue transported the employee to Porter Regional Hospital.

Criminal Mischief

At 7:48 PM, an officer took a report for an unknown liquid that was thrown on a vehicle. The incident occurred on Garfield Street.  There are were no suspects at the time of the report.

Information

At 8:20 PM, a student came to VU Police Department to report two subjects had been in the back yard of a residence on Mound Street. The two had left the area.

Criminal Mischief

At 9:53 AM, officers responded to the softball field in reference to  broken cinder blocks and tools taken out of the storage area.   

Hit and Run Vehicle Crash

At 11:06 AM, an officer responded to Greenwich Street in reference to a hit and run vehicle crash.  There were no injuries and a report was taken.

At 12:55 PM, an officer responded to Lot 60 in reference to a hit and run vehicle crash.  There were no injuries and a report was taken.

Property Damage

At 11:08 AM, a large part of a tree fell on VU Police Department.  Facility Management removed the tree and made necessary repairs to the building. There were no injuries.

Medical

At 3:33 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Wesemann Hall in reference to an employee who had fainted and struck her head.  Valpo Fire/Rescue transported the employee to Porter Regional Hospital.

False Fire Alarm

At 9:50 PM, officers and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Uptown East in reference to an activated fire alarm.  Uptown East maintenance employees accidentally activated the alarm while repairing a water leak.

November 06, 2015

Theft

At 3:06 PM, an officer responded to Lankenau Hall in reference to the theft of cash from a backpack. The incident occurred at the Chapel.  There are no suspects at the time of the report.

November 07, 2015

Possession of Marijuana

At 2:09 AM, officers responded to Wehrenberg Hall in reference the report of an odor of marijuana.  Officer recovered marijuana and paraphernalia. Two students were arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.  

November 08, 2015

Information

At 3:24 PM, an officer responded to McIntyre Court in reference to a wellbeing check of two residents. The officer did locate the home owners.

Campus motorists have reduced vehicle speed on campus in the last week. Extra traffic enforcement will continue on campus and roads adjacent to campus. Keep up the good work by reducing speed, stopping at cross walks, and stopping at stop signs.
Please report suspicious activities and contact VU Police at 464-5430 if you have information to criminal activities, such as hit and run vehicle drivers.
