January 24, 2016

 

Criminal Mischief

At 12:45 PM, an officer responded to Lot 43 for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.  There are no known suspects.

 

Medical

At 1:05 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Lankenau Hall for a student who had dislocated her knee.  The student refused further medical treatment.

Harassment

At 12:30 PM, a student reported being harassed by a non-student.  The incident is under investigation.

 

Theft

At 3:19 PM, a staff member reported the theft on her VU OneCard  from Wesemann Hall.  On 01/27/2016, the staff member reported the card was returned.

 

Medical

At 9:02 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Uptown East for a student who was unconscious.  Valpo Fire/Rescue transported the student to Porter Regional Hospital.

Vehicle Crash

At 1:08 AM, an officer responded to Lot 43 for a hit and run vehicle crash.  The suspect vehicle was located and the driver admitted to the crash and marijuana use earlier in the evening.  The case was forwarded to the Porter County Prosecutor’s office.

 

False Fire Alarm

At 5:58 PM an officer responded to Mound Street for an activated fire alarm.  The activation was an accidental activated, the alarm was reset.

 

January 29, 2016

 

Possession of Marijuana

At 11:03 PM, officers responded to Alumni Hall for a report of an odor of marijuana.  Officers located marijuana and issued the student a state citation and court date for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

 

January 30, 2016

 

Fire Alarm

At 6:40 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Promenade West for an activated fire alarm.  There was no fire.

Property Damage

At 7:03 PM, an officer responded to the Chapel for a report of a broken window.  There are no suspects.

 

Suspicious Incident

At 9:21 PM, an officer took a report of a suspicious incident which occurred at the ARC where an unknown person acted inappropriately toward a staff member’s child.  The incident is under investigation.

Extra traffic enforcement is in effect due to the increase of vehicle speed and disregarding of stopping for pedestrians in crossways on campus. Please help keep our campus safe by obeying the 20 MPH campus speed limit and stopping for pedestrians in crosswalks.
