Burning Smell

At 5:08 AM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Gellersen Hall for a report of a burning smell.  A 3D printer was malfunctioning and Valpo Fire/Rescue disconnected the power to the printer.

 

February 17, 2016

 

Criminal Mischief

At 10:35 PM, an officer responded to Gellersen hall for damage to a bathroom door.  There are no suspects at this time.

 

February 19, 2016

 

Property Damage

At 7:27 PM, an officer responded to the area of the Fitness Center parking lot for a vehicle stuck in the grass.  A tow company removed the vehicle from the grass.

 

False Fire Alarm

At 8:42 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Promenade East for an activated fire alarm.  The alarm was activated by cooking smoke.

 

February 20, 2016

 

Intimidation

At 1:01 PM, a student walking reported being verbally threatened by a male subject from a window. The incident occurred in the area of LaPorte Avenue and University Park.  The incident is under investigation.

 

February 21, 2016

 

Medical

At 1:06 AM, officers and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Beacon Hall for an intoxicated student.  Valpo Fire/Rescue transported the student to the Valparaiso Emergency Room.

Thank you VU community for your support in this year’s Valpo Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Indiana. Together we raised over $37,000. Great job! My challenge to our community for next year, bring one more person to the plunge.
