April 11, 2016

 

Criminal Mischief

At 11:20 AM, an officer responded to the ARC for a report of items being thrown into the swimming pool.  There are no suspects at this time.

 

Theft

At 3:43 PM, an officer responded to Eastgate for a report of a theft of a wallet and cellphone from a vehicle.  There are no suspects. Both items were recovered.

 

April 12, 2016

 

Battery

At 9:31 PM, a student reported being battered by an ex-boyfriend.  The incident is being investigated.

 

April 13, 2016

 

Intimidation

At 2:44 PM, a student reported another student shouted at her and she felt threatened by the other student.  An investigation is ongoing.

 

False Fire Alarm

At 6:28 PM, an officer responded to Promenade East for an activated smoke detector in an apartment.  There was a small amount of cooking smoke and the officer reset the alarm.

 

April 14, 2016

 

Vehicle Crash

At 12:00 PM, an officer responded to Lot 20 for a vehicle crash. There were no injuries and a crash investigation was conducted.

 

April 15, 2016

 

Theft and Criminal Mischief

At 6:56 AM, an officer responded to the east side of Kretzmann hall for a report of the theft of tools from the construction site.  The incident is under investigation.

 

Elevator Malfunction

At 8:35 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Alumni Hall for a person trapped in the elevator.  FMS reset the elevator and the person was able to exit.

 

Medical

At 10:09 AM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to the VUCA for a child who had fainted.  The child’s parent refused further medical attention.

 

Vehicle Crash

At 10:58 AM, an officer responded to Emory Bauer Field for a vehicle crash.  There were no injuries and a vehicle crash investigation was conducted.

Assist Other Jurisdiction

At 12:03 AM, officers responded to College Avenue to assist Valparaiso Police with a disturbance.

 

Public Intoxication

At 1:38 AM, officers and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Garfield and Union Streets for a report of a male who was unconscious.  The male was awake and standing when officers arrived and refused medical attention.

 

Elevator Malfunction

At 4:49 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Alumni Hall for a person stuck in the elevator.  Valpo Fire/Rescue opened the elevator and assisted the person out.

 

At 11:48 PM, an officer and Valpo Fire/Rescue responded to Neils Science Center for a staff member stuck in the elevator.  Valpo Fire/Rescue opened the elevator and assisted the staff member out.

Please obey “resident parking only” parking signs on McIntyre Street, vehicles are again parking illegally. Several warning and citations have been issued. Avoid your vehicle being towed, park in designated parking spaces.
